Backpacking Entiat's " Upper Valley " To Entiat Headwaters And Glacier

It's about a 16 mile trip up ( 32mile round trip ) the Entiat Valley Trail to the headwaters of the Entiat River and the " Entiat Glacier ". Where else can you see Mountain Goats, Mule Deers, Marmots, ( Even A Wolverine!! ) and but bump into a another single person. The wild flowers were awesome on this early July hike. One must cross a few creeks along the way, but this trail to the " Backside " of Glacier Peak Wilderness is quite special with no other peopl.e

All these pictures make the Entait Valley very enticing. Of course, one of the reasons we moved to WA is to hike so this trip is right up our "valley." Thanks for sharing these great photos.

Monte, one of the bearded rangers from this summer. Love the pictures as always, amazing to see perhaps the remnants of one of Cool's cabins. Very neat. Anyway, looks like I will be returning for a season working for the OHV program, would love to head out for a weekend backpack trip or whatever. Hope all is well. Scott "Renegade Ranger" Robertson.

Wow! I want to go there. Beautiful, beautiful mountains. Love the photos. What time of year did you go? Wouldn't want to go too early in the spring. Probably only a small window of opportunity to get in there without having to worry about nasty weather. Is it much of a climb? I suppose I could look on a map to find out that info. I've day hiked up to about 25 miles, and a good portion of it was a climb. If one was in good condition, do you suppose it could be accomplished in a day. I just hate to carry a heavy overnight pack. It slows me down so much.
