Ice lakes are located at the head of the Entiat Valley. The hike is quite nice ,but turned into a climb/ scamble for the last half mile. These lakes are remote and see less people all summer than the " Enchantments " near Leavenworth see in a weekend!!! Of course winter comes early and the window between seeing larch's golden needles and snow is short. Several icy river/stream crossing also add to the diffeculties of the trip. In October, in is rare to see another person up here,,,
