On Sickles Avenue is this 1889 monument dedicated to the 4th Michigan Infantry.
This group fought in the Wheatfield. The person depicted in the bas relief is
Colonel Harrison H. Jeffords who was shot and bayoneted on the spot. The theme
of rallying around the flag kept the soldiers focused on being a unit. In black & white.
