Bangkok, Crazy Bangkok 2005

Several days in Bangkok in summer 2005 - before going to Cambodia and after returning from there. What a city... There are surprizes on every corner, the city can be very calm alnd quiet, or crazy and loud. I love Bangkok.

Photos here include The Royal Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Po, Chinatown, Patopong, Khao San Road. Also the floating market in Damnoen Saduak, an hour drive from Bangkok.

Great pictures but lack of the real spirit of bangkok. Bangkok has much more the other beautiful sides that you didn't capture.

Hiya Maciej, I am a big fan of yours and enjoy all your galleries. I think you have captured Bangkok incredibly well here and shown it for what it is. Completely unphotogenic. You have to avoid the electric and telephone wires every picture. Everyone wears jeans shorts and flipflops, the place is grimy and uncolourful, traffic and smog abound, hand written signs and weather beaten billboards, illegal street vending (sure the girl didn't want her face in the pic :-) ). Maciej, you are what u are which is a brilliant portrayer of life being lived and I truly respect your work. Cheers, Col (Bangkok Resident 15 years)

I'm Thai,especially I live in Bangkok.I think,you forgot to capture many many...beautiful place,such as the grand palace (accomodation of king 225 years ago) Wat Pra Keaw.National Thai museum.For the fashion place is Siam Paragon,Siam Square,MBK,Silom road.Bangkok is a busy city.Thailand has a very important festival on 13-15 April,called Songkran days(New Year 's day of Thailand in the past) This festival,Thai people will pour the water each others.The popular visitted place is Pattay,Phuket,Hua-Hin and bangkok. next year,The new international airport in thai land ,called Suwannaphume will operate. sorry you had to put up with such comment, Maciej. It was immature and demeaning to thai women. I sense in these shots that you could have been enjoying being in "automatic" shooting mode, as in "automatic" writing. In a way, a bustling place like BKK is perfect for that. You need the eyes of a fly, and tons of memory, it's 24 hours madness there, everyday!
