When we first got to the resort, we found literally hundreds of Spanish-speaking teenagers and almost no families with small children.
This mystified us, as the reviews of the resort touted the child-friendliness of this place. Within a few days we learned that these students were from Argentina,
where it is a custom for those who have graduated Grade 12 to travel somewhere before going to university--Cuba was one of three options.
Naturally, the resort did quite a few things to cater to the teens, including raucous music around the pool, etc.,
that we older folks didn't always appreciate all that much, but we coped. Their presence and energy allowed for much colourful beach and pool photography.
After the Artgenteens (as we called them) left, families shows up in abundance.
