The 2007 regional competition was in Kansas City, March 15 - 17. Results in KC:
1. Ranked 6th out of 44 entries based on qualifying rounds.
The top 8 could choose two others for allies in a double elimination tournament. We were chosen by the number 2 team and we accepted.
2. Our alliance made it to the final round, lost, and was awarded the finals trophy.
3. Awarded All Star Rookie team of the 15 entered, qualifying us to enter the international competition in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome, April 12-14.
Local news coverage 2007: http://www.examiner-enterprise.com/articles/2007/03/21/news/news763.txt In Atlanta we obtained 9th place out of 86 teams in the CURIE field (one of the four fields), got bumped up to 8th when a higher team was picked for an alliance.
We chose two partners for one of the 8 alliances to go in to the quarter finals where we were eliminated after the first two matches.
Pretty good for a rookie team!

2011 Preparation: http://www.examiner-enterprise.com/articles/2010/12/17/community/com776.txt 2011 Oklahoma City Regional competition:
Team 2165 took 2nd out of 52 teams in the qualifying rounds and was captain of the alliance (including Team 476 of Ponca City)
that got 2nd place in the final 8 alliance double elimination. Amazing for a robot that did not work going in and never got to do a practice round.
Also, we got the trophy for Creative Design of a robot.
