Miss Josephine Shrimping

Galveston, TX

The Texas Gulf Coast
Miss Josephine is a working shrimpboat from the Mosquito Fleet.
The name Mosquito Fleet dates from Galveston's early years, and is supposed to have come from a fancied resemblance between the
small sail-powered fishing boats, their hanging nets, the craft being small and how they swarmed together when rounding up the shrimp.

In contrast, behind Miss Josephine are two Hornbeck Energy tankers, the 11103 and the 13501. These tankers, along with
several jack-up rigs are dry-docked in the Gulf Copper Rig Repair yard.
Gulf Copper's Galveston facility has quayside space and dry-docking for jack-up drilling rigs as well as many semi-submersibles.
These ships are about receive blasting, fabrication, painting, machining, mechanical, electrical, scaffolding or more.
