My dad was in the Army, and served in the Korean war. He was wounded but never got his Purple Heart. His records were lost in a big fire in Missouri 40 years ago,
and so they've refused to give him his medal. I had always hoped he would get it before he dies. He's 81 and time is running out.
Sometimes the VA sucks.
