Zanzibar June 12, 2006

Today is our 30th anniversary! And what a lovely day we had! First up in the morning was a driving tour around Stonetown. It was pouring rain, so most of the time we opted to look from the van at the sights, but the market was one that we just had to see up close and personal. Other sights we explored were the Anglican Church and slave quarters, and a walk through Stonetown to see all of the elaborate doors and the inside of some of the shops. This is where my 5 year old film camera packed it in, oh well, it was a good excuse to go digital once we got home. Luckily Jim had his Nikon for this trip. After a nice relaxing lobster lunch at the Serena, we spent the afternoon touring a spice farm, again in the pouring rain.
