Diamond Python

We went for a bush walk up the mountain yesterday. Sandy spotted this fine specimen a couple of meters away from where we were standing. Its a harmless (they constrict their prey and are non venomous) Diamond Python. I guess he was getting close to a couple of meters long but he was asleep and he didn't move even though we were walking around him and we were not going to disturb his post prandial zizz deliberately. It was raining lightly and you can see drops of rain on his back.

You seem to encounter more snakes in your travels than I do. They can make great pictures, of which this is another.
