Gum Tree Circle No 5

This is close to what I had envisaged. It’s a combination of the original colour Gum Tree Circle No 1 on the bottom of the layer stack and Gum Tree No 4 outline above it with an opacity of 33%. I have used the Blending option of “Colour Dodge” which brings the colour of the leaves through.

The edges are clearly defined and it has the slightly cartoonish look that I remember in the colour prints. (I know that most were sepia but I liked the colour prints). Indeed I can almost see the Big Bad Banksia Man lurking in the undergrowth.

I have played with a couple of others and will probably put them up as well.

Note that the above is my experience with my computer and my images and may not be always be the case and I use Elements 7.

Am enjoying this adventure. Really pleased to see you fooling around with layers as you are. There is something very truthful about the way you have depicted the light. There's a "water colour" look to it all. I can tell it wasn't shot THIS summer though.
