This time I tried the Convert to Black and White selections. I tried them all without any changes to the channel settings or contrast. The one I preferred is the Infrared Effect and this is the image.

The exposure is evened out with good retention of detail. I rather like this one. I have some ideas and will be combining B&W conversions to various other effects. I think that this will be a good base image. I am aiming to get similar results to drawings/water colours that appeared in children’s stories when I was young. A long time ago now I can tell you.
