792. Elderberry ice-cream

4 October 2006

I have finally finished the rather large pile of work that had been hanging over my head recently. Not only did I complete the work I already had waiting, but I also managed to do some additional stuff that just came in as well. I know that I will be receiving a rush job on Friday, but between now and then I am free as a bird. That is to say; I am as free as a bird in an aviary. I have revising to do for next week. On Monday I have to prove that I know how to use MS Access (which is a program that I have never used), and on Tuesday I have to write a paper in class on one of the short stories we have looked at. Also on Tuesday, I have to have learned to conjugate the Spanish subjunctive (I can do it in Portuguese, but I've never done it in Spanish) and also change a text from the present tense to the past. This last one shouldn't be too difficult; just time consuming. Before all that, however, I have to make the elderberry ice-cream. I have harvested the berries from the tree, and have filled two carrier bags. Now they are waiting to be destalked and washed. Now I am waiting to see what it will taste like. Since it is me who will be making it, my guess is that it will end up tasting awful. I'll let you know how I get on.
