Daisies clinging on

What a fabulous footie fest today. I woke up this morning and thought that I must have died and gone to Heaven... then I realised it was just that I had a fully paid-up subscription to Sky Sports and Setanta! The footie started at 8am with Football First on Sky Sports 1 - all the goals from yesterday's English premiership! Nice start to the day, I thought. Next up, at 11am, for a 12.05 kick-off, was Liverpool v. Manure - a very dull 0-0 draw. Between the two, I managed to have some breakfast... so that worked out well. The main event, however, was the Hibs v. Celtic game, live from Edinburgh, and beamed into my tellybox by Setanta. There was at least a goal in this otherwise dull game, and the good guys got it, with Stan Petrov sticking the ball through the Hibs goalie's legs in the 6th minute. Celtic managed to cling on to their one goal lead by the skin of their teeth. But, hey, who cares? Celtic won, and that's the main thing. More footie was to follow, with the wonders of modern technology bringing both the Real Madrid v. Espanyol game and the Atletico Madrid v. Barcelona game into my 'dinky little home'. Surprise results all round... with the smaller Madrid and Barcelona teams beating their bigger other city rivals. A man can have too much fun, it would seem, and a price had to be exacted for this lazy day watching the beautiful game being played in three different countries. The price was unexpected... a broken down car! These things surely are sent to try us. Still, at least Celtic won, and Manure didn't... so it can't all be bad! As you have no doubt realised, the image has absolutely nothing to do with the story... but that doesn't really matter, does it?
