Kingoodie

30 August 2004

132.
I am annoyed with myself just now. On his way home from school, Liam phoned to 'ask' if he could bring his friends, Joe and Steven, with him. I got angry with him because he presented me with a fait accomplis (he had already told his friends it was OK). Once he was home, he and his friends went upstairs and started jumping on the beds... then I found out that he had used the money we gave him for Technical Studies to buy him and his friends chips (French fries) on their way home. My bad mood wasn't made any better by his behaviour (being cheeky and giggling). Now I am angry with myself for over-reacting. We have made up, and now he is in his bedroom going through my old LP and 12" single collection, listening to vinyl versions of The Pixies, Adam and the Ants, The B52s.... and now he's got Edinburgh's finest late-1970s pop-punk on: The Rezillos' 'Top of the Pops'. Class, pure class. Between anger and The Rezillos, Liam and I stopped off at Kingoodie after taking his friends home.

Wow! So peaceful and beautiful.

Liam is a good kid and will make it through just fine. My advice: keep talking to each other and don't take his future bad behavior or mean things he may say personally.

Kids!
What a lovely picture. So tranquil - love the light -- Looked like a cool summer day or early autumn! :-)
Cheers

Sorry for your woes Stewart, but it did bring a smile to my face (mine have passed that stage, I hope.) I'm sure this place soothed everything away. Just beautiful.

You show him how to be a debaser!

I think listening to the Pixies at his age easily makes up for the previous indiscretions, but then that's maybe why we don't have kids! Or a dog. Or a Cat........

Beautiful!

Hmmmm...I don't think you need to feel bad because your kid is trying to put one over on you and you don't want him to grow up to be dishonest. Deceiving a parent isn't just a prank; you need to trust him and he's stepping down the road to mistrust.
Like the photo...

Ain't kids grand:) My youngest just got back from a court hearing in Massachusetts for driving without a license his very pregnant girlfriend at his side. I still love him to death. He's 22 ... it never stops.

LOL. i love it! being a parent is so funny. I mean. when i was little i believed they actually knew what they were doing. Upon becoming one, I realized we had no idea most times..LOL
Oh.. and nice photo..love the blue of the water matching the curves in the green of the land.

Lovely picture, try to remember your misdeeds when you were Liams age. I know it's easier said then done.
