Peru We went to Peru over the July 4th break to escape not just work, but also the heat to enjoy the cool weather of the south american country. Granted that our main goal in visiting Peru was to see the Machu Picchu ruins, but we enjoyed many other aspects of Lima as well. The food was excellent -- flavorful, spicy, large variety, and best of all, served with white rice! There also no shortage of spanish style cathedrals and colonial buildings. Travel was hassle-free and easy (thanks to a good network of buses!) Route: Lima -> Nazca -> Cuzco / Machu Picchu -> Chiclayo -> Trujillo -> Lima |
