Pentax K1000

All photos in this gallery were taken with my very first camera. The Pentax K1000! Special thanks to Jim Shauberger at Scopes and Stuff for helping me get this camera back to usable shape. I called ahead to tell him I was on my way down to his shop, to see if this camera was still usable, and as soon as I walked thru his doors he sprung in to action, nearly ripped the Pentax out of my hand with an almost boyish joy and totally cleaned and inspected the camera, and in minutes he had me snapping photos! i bought a k1000 on ebay a few weeks ago. i was influenced by my college classes using slr's and being peeved by the buggery of my digital kodak c813 auto focus. I got the most non digital/auto featured model i could find that didn't involve a cardboard box with a hole in it. I kept messing up my picture due to under exposure because i thought the asa controled the light intake as well as the apature, so i was using 200 asa film with a 3200 setting! i did a test film with the setting at 200 and am hoping to see perfect exposures when i see the prints (other wise i asume my camera is buggered as my ability to use it)

K1000 is the best camera have come acros still keeping up with the times :D strong and reliable

fantastic photos, I plan on getting a k1000 for my first slr.

Mine is taken in the building of the Faculty of Architecture by paramilitary forces during the riots in Serbia in 2000 cause I took some photos of them:-(
The case came up for trial and lasts up to now. Nothing can compensate the time without it.

Sniff.. I miss my K1000.. it was stolen out of my classroom-first year teaching.. (my neighbor forgot to report the fact Her door was broken.. grrrrrr..

I've still got my K1000. Since I went digital, I haven't touched either of my SLRs but these wonderful shots make me want to get them out.
