Sunset at Clingmans Dome

At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is Great Smoky Mountains National Park's highest point. It is the highest point in Tennessee, and the second highest point east of the Mississippi. Only North Carolina's Mt. Mitchell (6,684 feet) rises higher.

Every year on the first day of Summer I take a long drive. The rules: Windows must be down and the music must be up. This year I went up to Clingmans Dome. Great drive and this year having an iPod connected to my car speakers really made it nice.

Yes great image and a great trip. I know what you mean about the ipod. Really sets the mood for things of this nature. I did it too just yesterday.
