Liquid Nitrogen

Every so often we have to dump the extra tank of Liquid Nitrogen. This means that we all gather around and dump things into the -189 degree vat before we take it out to the parking lot to dump it on the pavement so we can see our frozen goodies.

This time around it was soup, a milky way bar, some strawberry yogurt. No dead mice or insects this time around.

This reminds me of a demonstration in high school physics: the instructor immersed a tennis ball in the stuff, then threw the ball across the room. It shattered on the floor. That was 41 years ago and I still remember it vividly.
