I'm looking at the world different thanks to your pictures.
Your photos have kept me glued to the computer screen for hours.
I am duly impressed. You have a gift.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions Ron. I am having to relearn many of my old SLR habits and leave the auto everything world for the choose your own settings world once again. I can't wait to see those snow leopards.
I had a look at your D70 gallery. Looks like you have some very nice photographic opportunites with all the flowers and butterflys. If I might offer you a tip, watch your DOF especially when you are close to your subject and it will get shallower as opposed to being a longer distance away. This often makes f/8 to shallow for up close. Also, don't be afraid to up that ISO to between 400-800, after all that's one of the main reasons to get a DSLR is low noise performance at high ISO. With higher ISO where you run into trouble is when you couple high ISO with underexposure which is noise city. My daughter and I just took some snow leopard shots last wekend (not posted yet) and because he was in the shade and the lens was at 300mm I set the ISO to 1600 and was very pleased with the results.
Diane, Thanks for the comments. I just discovered the many different comments here in the forum/guestbook. I am from the Pinehurst area and get the opportunity to travel the state on business. I wish that I could get many more shots for the world to see from our wonderful state. One day at a time.
I don't know what part of NC you are from--I'm in the western foothills, so quite near the mts. I particularly enjoyed your shots of your cats--and I'm guessing the NC zoo--plan to go back in the Fall. I also really liked many of your butterfly shots. I am a butterfly lover--we plant many things on our property to attract them. I shoot a few--but many I just watch sail around *smile*.
Thanks, I love hearing from you are you the email lady now?
Very Nice - looks like you are enjoying your new camera. Love Mom
Neat! You'll have to tell me about this site.
