Colin, what a shame a preservation movement was'nt set up to purchase the sheppey light railway.I beleive it would be as popular an attraction as the bluebell railway in east sussex.Ironically the bluebell railway was purchaes in 1958-A mere eight years after the sheppey light ceased to be.Excellent site Mr edwards keep it up!

Hello Trevor, I remember the sheppey light railway well,my first job at leaving school at 14, was to collect two churns of milk from minster east station, take them back to the dairy owned by Mr bert carter. i would then pour some into a smaller churn and with a ladle hang it on the handebar of my bicycle and then go and serve my customers. The dairy was in sunnyside ave minster. When the dairy closed bert carter started work at the ace cinema in queenboro. By the way Trev im talking about 1945, later in life i worked with your father in the dockyard,Its nice looking back on your site good work keep it up.
