My nan was at the station waiting to return to Sittingbourne at the time of the accident, fortunately all she lost was a shoe!

I remember it too. A woman was decapitated by the train when it smashed through the station.

Strange to see the Station looking like this - I was at Boarding School in Folkestone around this time. I was too busy chatting with my friends as it was the end of term or something - so walking down to the train station from School, I missed the train. Turns out that the train I missed didnt stop at Sheerness and there was a bad accident and the train ended up in the street after smashing through the station. I only found out when the train stopped at an earlier stop and we were coached to Sheerness. Lucky escape
