Thank you for the wonderful photos of good old Leysdown and Warden Bay. My French Father bought firstly and chalet at Priory Camp and then a Bungalow at Warden Bay just before you went up the cliff into the woods and onto Warden and Eastchurch. My Sister Antionette and I used to collect old ammuntion shells form the ploughed field near the old Army Camp past the Priory Hill Camp and also there were lots of old bullets and shell cases to be found on the Shellness beach in the 50`s and 60`s. Great memories of all the amusement arcades along the high street leading to the beach...my sister got up to some strange things in those days....come to think of it so did I. We used to walk from Leysdown to Sheerness rail station to meet Mum and Dad at the station, eating nicked apples from peoples gardens along the way. Posted by Louis Bach Forest Gate London, but now in North Devon Westward Ho! along the coast...Funny that it reminds me of Sheppy! Posted 27/10/2012.
