My dad was a steel fixer on the kingsferry bridge,hav news paper clip to prove it,and his mum's brother died working on the kingsferry bridge he fell in to the pouring of the wet cement on one of the leg suports of the bridge thy got him out but was dead,his surname was shoebridge from queenborough,and his mum lived at 135 queenborough rd,

Hopefully the Sheerness branch line will never close but even if it does the four post lifting bridge may likely be kept for emergency use, such as when the new crossing is closed due to high winds

The small bridge was demolished soon after the new one was built i belive one man died in the constrution of the new bridge but i am not 100% sure it may have been on the old one when it was demolished the 4 poster is going to be kepted as it is needed for the trains ( god forbid if they close the railway down then there would be no need for them to keep it.)There are only 2 lifting bridges in the world that look like this type ) i do not know where the other one is prehaps someone else knows where it is and may be have some photos of it from Tom In Derbyshire

I would like to know what happen to the other bridge small one ? it look nice but now it nothing but coming soon new bridge will be open? could you tell me what happen to small one thank you
