I was born in 1942 at Sheppey General Hospital we lived on the Minster Road before moving to Sheerness. My grandmother worker in Ancells Toy Shop and at the rear of it was a yard that was shared with a fish and chip shop which my mum and dad run. It had a small restaurant and they employed one waitress whose name I cannot remember but can remember she was a nice lady. On Friday's and Saturday they would make, bag and box potato crisps with a twist of salt in each bag,the bags were made from greaseproof paper and had FULLER'S CRISPS printed on each one. My dad had a car it was a bit bigger that an Austin Severn but I am not shore what make it was and he would fill the inside with boxes of crisps tie them down on the roof and running boards and the boot had a fold down platform on which he tied even more boxes and the set off (after a cup of tea) around the island and sell them to the pubs. I would be interested to know if anyone remembers this period in time.

I used to love this place. It was like an Aladdin's cave going in there to pick out my Christmas present.
