The Hotels Orleans
The first Orleans Hotel
The 200 room Orleans Hotel was first built by the B. C. R. and N. Railroad in 1883. By 1899 the hotel venture had proven to be financially unsound and was torn down.
The second Orleans Hotel (New Orleans Hotel with hip roof)
John Burmeister built the 72 room hotel in 1906 on the site of the original hotel. This structure burned to the ground on the night of Jan. 29, 1908. The most likely cause was a spark from a passing train.
The third Orleans Hotel
Mr. Burmeister immediately began rebuilding the hotel but as it neared completion a construction mishap again burned the building to the ground on May 7th, 1909
The fourth Orleans Hotel. (Gable roof)
Again Mr. Burmeister began construction on the hotel that was opened in August of 1909. This structure was partially destroyed by fire in 1936 at which time the upper two floors were damaged sufficiently to cause their removal. The remaining portion of the hotel is a private residence at this time.

Did the 1907 Orleans Hotel burn down perhaps, that the 1911 photo is so different, yet very similar? I am going to have to seek out an area history!
