The Forest of Soignes or Sonian Forest ( (The Romance language spoken in France and in countries colonized by France) French: Forêt de Soignes, (The West Germanic language of the Netherlands) Dutch: Zoniënwoud) is a 43 km² (Land that is covered with trees and shrubs) forest on the southeast of (The capital and largest city of Belgium; seat of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization) Brussels, (A monarchy in northwestern Europe; headquarters for the European Union and for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization) Belgium, which stretches out over the three regions of Belgium, the Brussels-Capital Region (38 %), the Flemish Region (56 %) and the Walloon Region (6 %). The forest is mostly planted with (Large European beech with minutely-toothed leaves; widely planted as an ornamental in North America) European beeches and (A deciduous tree of the genus Quercus; has acorns and lobed leaves) oaks.
