Umhlanga Reed Dance 2011 - Swaziland

Ten years after...
2011 ceremony of the Umhlanga Reed Dance in Swaziland, surprised me because several things had changed since 2001 (even if girls, music, enthusiasm might be the same). This year event was much more organized and, of course, not as "genuine" or "naive" than the 2001 one.
Strong accent was put on virginity as a great value (but today's virgin has the original meaning of "untouched"), particularly to counter the extremely high diffusion of HIV-SIDA in the region.
Promoters also try to attract tourism with this event and, apparently, they succeed.

Swaziland the only nation that has preserved its culture in full. i like that please preserve it even further for the next generation

I love the Swazis. We have many similarities with them as we are the Zulus.

it should not be that African girls lack enough courage to expose their bodies b4 cams.whites are not the only ones who have such courage and its the reason why I give respectful kudos to swazi landers, their king and the maidens. don't kil your culture and traditions.that there are still many virgins in this part of the world is great. not that anyone cares about virginity anymore. after all, men are not marrying women becos their hymen is intact. all the same I say thank you becos your girls are a sight for sore eyes.
