MSR-G expedition stove from the mid 1970s

Mountain Safety Research Stove model G or 9A. I'm not sure if it's an MSR-G or MSR-9A stove, and would appreciate input to type this stove out correctly. It has a plastic base plate, which is unique; and there is no cable in the fuel tube, or numbers on the aluminum block at the end of the fuel tube. The pump is a newer, safe version, vs the old yellow (which I do have). The fuel bottle is a mid 1970s SIGG 19oz all aluminum version.

Greetings, there are two ways to tell a Model 9A from a Model G. Check to see if there is a solid rod inside your fuel line, which does not protrude from the end of the fuel line. Also, check the jets. If your fuel line has a solid (non-removable) rod inside it, but not the protruding braided cable, and if your jet is very small, and recessed down into the burner housing, like the original Model 9, then you have and Model 9A. If your stove has the braided cable protruding from the end of the fuel line (removable for service), and if your jet is very large and wide, compared to the smaller jet of the original #9, and is stamped with a "G", then you have a Model G. I hope this helps, but if you have more questions, please look me up on Classic Campstoves (Spiritburner.com), and I'll be happy to do my best to answer any more questions. Thanks, and God Bless! - Doc Mark

Hi! I wonder? Is the pump original? I have had an MSR-GK Stove and the Pump was the old Yellow one. It also had the black plastic bottom and no markings on the alu-block. Also had the flint lighter. I am pretty sure it is an MSR-g Stove maybe a transition model if the grey pump came with the Stove.
