Griswold produced the finest cast iron cookware ever made. The period of production is from the period of the 1880s to 1957. My collection is from the 1880s to the mid 1930s, and every piece is still perfect for cooking a meal today.

I am looking for a griswold cast iron pan that is hinhed and divided in the middle. My grandfather cooked buttermilk cornbread in it. cooked one side then flipped the pan and cooked the other. while cooking is was half moon shaped with a handle for both sides and a hinge in the middle. donhaddix@ymail.com

4 in 1 hinged chicken pan is older Lodge which I believe to have been designed by the Griswold Co. Double circle on bottom of pan is the obscured Griswold Logo. It is a lovely Lodge hammered finish pan. I have one also. I paid $45 at antique store.

I have recently obtained a hammered finish finish chicken fryer with a inch and a half flat skillet lid. It has a star with a cross in the middle that has a 4in 1 in it. the bottom of the big skillet has a poor image of what appears to be a griswold small logo. all I can make out is the double ring. I have a For sure hammered Griswold with a dome lid . Sit them side by side and the casting looks identical.No speculation please, who made this first skillet?

My find of the day , part of a Waffle Iron. it says AMERICAN NO 8 pat no 151N across the top ,has cross in circle w/Greswold in the middle & THE GRISWOLD MFG. CO. ERIE PA., ,U. S. A. across the bottom . The wire handle looks to have been nickel plated the rest of it shows some black and mostly surface rust .

I received an Erie Dutch Oven last year as a gift & would love fo find an additional one just like it. My Dutch Oven states on the underside ERIE (at the top), 834 x (in the center), and I believe a 9 at the bottom of the underside. The lid, which I love, only has an hourglass marking on the underside center, while surrounded by three circles of bumpy ringlets (not the solid rings like I have seen on others) I dont know any other way but say bumpy ringlets. Has anyone seen one like this & if so please let me know how I could possible purchase another one. Thank you for any and all information for me.

I have a one burner pancake griddle., on the bottom it says it was made by Griswold Manufacturers in Erie, Pennsylvania . It also has the number 608 on it. My Dad and I used to make pancakes on it. My Dad passed away in 1986 so this griddle has sentimantal value to me. If anyone has any knowledge of these griddles I would be interested in knowing what year they were manufactured. I have a skillet I inherited from my great, great aunt. It is a Griswold 704 no.8. I use it every day. I have often wondered how old it is and if it's worth anything. I enjoy imagining my aunt using it in Alaska where she worked as a cook during the gold rush. I hope I'm not minimizing the value of it by using it.

I recently picked up a toy mini kettle[?] with Griswold in circle cross in excellent condition.as well as a 6 piece corn bread pan, on the lower front lip is marked Griswold the other lip has a hole for hanging. The bottom is marked 17 on 1st section Griswold on the 2nd section, erie on the 3rd section PA. on the 4th section, g140 on 5th section, and U.S.A. on the last section. I have seen a similar 12 section rectangular pan ut not a 6. I can't find any reference to this piece. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

You have the 4-in-1 Double Skillet, Size 9 3/4" dia x 3"d., (cover) 10" dia x 15/16 d. Lodge made this piece during the 1940's - 1950's. This piece is in The Book of Wagner & Griswold, 2001 edition by David G Smith and Chuck Wafford. It is on page 229.

I have a griswold waffle iron that has American No. 8 the cross in a cricle, then at the bottor it has The Griswold Mfg. Co. Erie, Pa. U.S.A., Pat'd Dec. 1, 1908. The back has the same thing. The handles are somewhat like the ones I saw in this article above. But the bottom of the handle has twisted iron spirals below the top of it which is like the ones I saw. My husband have several pieces and enjoy looking at them throughout the kitchen, dinning room area. Thanks for letting me share this.Vonda

Hi, I am not a collector and am new to all this . . . anyway, after overheated teflon nearly killed our parrot, I dug around in the back of my cabinets for my great-grandmother's old cast iron skillets to make dinner. I noticed that one has a Griswold marking and a cross in a circle. It is a #6 skillet and has the word "ERIE" below that, and under that it is stamped 699 E. I'm sure it's at least 50 years old. She was born before 1900 and died in the early 90's. I have kept the skillets around for sentimental reasons and now am using them again. I'm wondering if this Griswold is worth anything and if I should be setting this one aside instead of using it. I have another skillet marked WAPAK and under that the number 5. The largest of my skillets has no markings. Thanks for any info you can give me.

I have an old Griswold pot that has been in family for quite a while. It has a flat bottom, rounded sides. It is shaped like the plastic witches cauldrons sold at Halloween. It does not have a lid. I do not think it came with one. The lip is wide and slants downwards toward the inside of the pot. It is stamped EIRE on the bottom. There are two numbers, 7 (is this a size) , and 813. Does anyone know about how old this pot might be. My mother got it form one of my father's relatives. I'd like an approximate age to try and relate the pot to a time-frame so I'd know which part of the family it might have come from. Thanks, Gail.
