Thank you for these great photos. My father Dan, Sr. was on this ship during the war. He often spoke about her and his duties repairing the planes. We have a picture of "Miss Flattop" still in our posession. My mom, dad and I often attended the reunions around the country. It would be interesting to see photos of the damage she sustained during the 1945 typhoon. Regretfully few sailors remain who served on the Hornet.
