This is our new dog Ty.
The info below was cut and pasted from petfinder.com:
Ty needs a foster home -- can you help? Please see below for more information!
Handsome Ty is a survivor in the truest sense of the word: During the recent severe flooding in Ohio, this 18-month-old Bloodhound-mix boy was trapped inside a shelter kennel when an overflowing river sent 4 feet of water rushing in. He somehow managed to escape and met the firefighters at the door, "dog-paddling" and staying afloat until they could evacuate the dogs. Ty was one of the few who made it out alive; others drowned before the firefighters could get to them :-(
Ty and the other survivors, including Newton, were moved to another shelter, where the staff promptly fell in love with him. One wrote: "Ty is one handsome dog, and he is a blast -- he loves everyone and everything, is super-gentle, and does very well with other animals and with kids. He's a social, playful boy who knows how to 'sit' and 'shake,' and seems very intelligent!" He currently tips the scales at a healthy 55 lbs., so if you're a big-dog lover, there's just enough of Ty to love!
We'd love to make Ty a member of the Almost Home family, but unfortunately all of our foster homes are currently filled :-( However, he may be available on a "foster-to-adopt" basis, so if Ty sounds like the right pet for you, please e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com
