Message from lauren collingwood
Thank you for visiting my galleries. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to email me. I'm not quite sure what to say about myself? I am just compelled to capture the people and things that intriege me. I do sell my artwork and I have exhibited many of these images as well. I process all of my own film and do all of my own printing, matting and framing. I have worked as a photographer, photographic printer and custom framer for over 17 years. I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2000 and since then I have become interested in painting as well. I will be adding more photographs and galleries in the future. At the present moment I work full time for the local university and part time at home in my own personal art/photo studio on my little farm with my hound dogs, goats, chickens and steer, Harold, along the creek by the river in the blue ridge mountains. i hope to renovate my barn into more of a work space this spring. Or perhaps i will finish that new coop . . . . . ? Whatever happens I'm sure it will be interesting. Thanks, L

A friend of mine and I are working on a new exhibit for next year. For my part I will incorporate many aspects of my life into my work. I plan on creating a more 3D show this time with only a few, but quite large pieces. I haven't exhibited in a gallery since 2003. Details to follow. . . .
Latest Update: July 2011
The exhibit is on hold until spring of 2012. I joined the Army Reserves, got rid of all of the animals except for two hounds and I quit my job at the university. I will be in training for a while, but when I return I plan on going back to school full time, raising heritage breed chickens and starting my own business in the health care field. I will still do my photography and painting as well. Maybe some knitting and ceramics too? Who knows? I guess I'm just going to do whatever I want and really enjoy life. Good plan.
