A Fifteenth Century structure built by the Argouges family. They owned the harbor at nearby Granville, which they sold to the English. This brought the family into disrepute. The château fell into disrepair but was restored during the 1970s by enthusiastic volunteers under a summer residence program. When the more conservative government dried up those funds, the work stopped. Still, a beautiful place that was always a home and never a fortification.
