Set in southern Utah, Zion is a dramatic juxtaposition of towering monoliths, narrow canyons and fast flowing water....the temple-like buttes and domes seemed to the early Mormon arrivals to be "Zion" and tourists remain drawn to this park to marvel at the extraordinary structures and the natural beauty of the canyons and rocks here!!
The hiking trail to Emerald Pool was a bit of a challenge when one starts with the Riverside Walk which was easy enough that one becomes rather blase about the need to be fitter than assumed...as was also the case with the walk to the Weeping Rock which lulled one into a sense "hmm...that's do-able!"
