...we were passing through the town of Banos, nestled between the Rio Pastaza and the Tungurahua - a volcano, which after 80 years of inactivity, has begun venting steam and ash intermittently over the last decade usually at a low level...however, during our visit, there was a lot of ash blown over the town and dramatic views of the volcano venting steam and smoke...which made for great photo opoportunities, but difficult breathing ....
