We adopted her on 8/14/04 from a Shelter PET Projects in Grand Ridge, IL! I think Marty led us to her. She loves his Green Chair...Click the thumbnails to see a larger photo. She is in much need of love:-) She has a huge fenced in backyard to run and play in. I never thought of a fence as protecting the beings inside of it.Mom and Dad like to podcast and sometimes I get on the show!

Hi Keith and Jennifer, It's Janice from work. Maggie is absolutely gorgeous. I know exactly how it is having a dog. Keith knows I have an English bulldog, and yes, he is spoiled. But he likes it. Well thanks for sharing your photos, talk to you guyz later. Sincerely

I have a Golden/Shepherd mix that looks a lot like the other golden mixes here and have finally added some shots of him. He has his ears in shepherd mode most of the time, except when trying to get in my lap. He was also a shelter pup at 8 mos. but his owner had had to move and couldn't take him. Pretty much leash trained and completely house trained when we got him! Not lap trained yet :) Right now he's thundering around the house and whining to get out. But it's very apparent the skunks are out so he's in! http://www.pbase.com/gillettecraig/taz

Great photos! I am so glad that you adopted...looks like Maggie May will have a great life. She reminds me so much of my Cinder, my golden lab mix I adopted this past March. Like Maggie, Cinder came to me at 10 months of age, spayed and is so affectionate. Good luck to you! Joe

the 2 dogs that mauled Marty were euthanized on 10-12 as their owner stopped contesting their death. He was sentenced to 6 years for the drug charges but the courts say on good behavior he'll be out by 2006. Over 150 LaSalle residences have put up fences. A new animal control law is in the works we hope so any animal (not only pit bulls) who is vicious and has bitten or mauled previously is not set free to do it again. Thank you for your kind words and for your caring thoughts. We wanted to make a donation to the shelter so the dogs there could have more than barely food and water and found Maggie. 10 month old female Golden. Too good to pass up. She stole our hearts and she came home with us. She is pure Love. Marty was with her keeping her safe as someone abandoned her and 5 other dogs out in the country and someone found them and brought them to the shelter. I hope they all have homes and are as spoiled as Maggie is.

I was just checking out your galleries to see how you were doing and found the new pup gallery. Congratulations (I realize you've had her a while now but it was new to me) on your new arrival. I am sure poor marty IS watching over you all. Now I have to get back to reading through your galleries to see what ever came of the two dogs that killed Marty, Good luck with Maggie May. I am so glad to see a dog in need getting a good home! She's beautiful.

She loves the camera or she pretends to smile for it at least. She is so loved and extremely spoiled. All dogs should be spoiled. Too many fabulous dogs never get a home like Maggie's. She was a shelter puppy. I'm so surprised someone would give up a female, 10 month old, spayed, great natured (loves kids and people) Golden Lab.
