Memorial day 1 July

On 01 July the people staged the city's biggest protest since 06 June 1989 to show they are not convinced that national security legislation (Article 23) will not limit the freedoms of Hong Kong people.

"Should Hong Kong pass laws to protect the socialist system?" 500,000 citizen (1/10 population) shows their answer on 1 July and created a historical moment.

Superb black and white pictures.

An amazing spectacle last crowds I saw were anti-war crowds in Bristol but nowhere near the volume of people you capture there...
