The story goes that Martin sent a religious book to his brother Vincent - from the states... because he feared that with the controlling Soviets... Lithuania was becoming a Godless place.
A couple pages from this book were removed and framed and remain hung on a wall there - even today.
Martin had nothing to worry about.
Among the stories we heard was one about his brother Vincent - walking - 14 miles round-trip to church every Sunday.

Pasak šeimos narių, broliui Vincentui Martinas atsiuntė iš Amerikos knygą su šventais paveikslais, baimindamasis, kad sovietams esant valdžioje, Lietuva taps bedievių kraštu. Šiuos paveikslus Vincentas įrėmino ir pakabino ant sienos, kur jie tebekaba ir dabar. (Baimintasi be reikalo!) Šią nuotrauką mums parodė Kupčelaičiai vaišių metu. Dar pasakojo, kad Vincentas kiekvieną sekmadienį eidavo pėsčias į bažnyčią – pirmyn-atgal apie 20 km.
