When I stopped for a map check, I noticed a dust devil about 200 yards (183m) away to the right. It was moving slowly, wandering in my direction. It picked up speed and continued toward me at a fast walking pace. I sat in the car, mesmerized. As I watched, it went across the road about 30 feet (9m) ahead and continued on its way on the other side.That's when I realized I should photograph it, so I grabbed my camera and fired off a few shots. Not long after I took this picture, it lost its energy and fell apart.
