Working on a solution to the problem of an obstacle

Jackson Butte (near Moab, Utah)

In 2006 my exploration of Jackson Butte was thwarted by a vine that blocked my way.
But having now gotten past that obstacle, I encountered this one. Luckily I was prepared for
such an occasion by carrying a sling of nylon webbing. That purple sling enabled me to surmount
the pour-off. Note that it is looped around a small rock bridge (shown better in the next photo).

I signed no treaties, no checks, and no audiences.

Dave did you sign any treaties while you were there?
Very interesting photo work and description.

couldn't you have just used the elevator?

Dave, is a "pour-off" some geologic feature or a quaint British word for a beer bash. I'm guessing it's the former, but your frequent use of the term "uploaded" (a code word for being high?) makes me wonder.

A good scout is prepared.
