After retreating from the dead-end described in the previous photo I ascended left and up,
leading me to this spot. The rock at left is a cliff, part of the contiguous mass of Jackson
Butte. At right is a fin, whose upper portion is the tower seen in the previous photo.
The gap between the cliff and the fin looked big enough to allow me to pass through. In addition, it
appeared to have a level bottom. There was only one way to reach it---on the rocks at left. The bush
concealed details that might make it impossible to reach the passage. I kept my fingers crossed.
