For this city boy, seeing so much vegetation in the desert was a big surprise. Here the willows and similar plants form a tunnel. The moisture of the creek sustains this growth.

Now, about Negro Bill canyon...From Vancouver to Seattle is a three-hour drive at most (but the train would be more fun). A plane flight from Seattle to Salt Lake City is two hours at most. A drive from Salt Lake City to Moab is six hours at most. Total time from Vancouver to Moab (less border checks, airport waiting, and security nonsense) is eleven hours. In half a day you could be there! In six weeks the temperatures will be perfect. Take lots of pictures!

Lovely photos of an exquisite place! This one in particular brings me back to walking through the canyon. I can almost smell the wild sage.
