Lion Mountain is five miles (eight km) south of Lucin in northwestern Utah. From the flat plain at Lucin I spied this humble peak and thought it would offer a nice view of the infinite flatness. The hike beagn in hazy sunshine but eventually deteriorated into a storm, whose threat of lightning forced me off the peak before I reached the top. But before I retreated I had some nice views of the landscape. By the time I got back to my car, it was sunny again. This view is to the east from near the summit.
