I've made 4 separate trips to Moab over the years and am enchanted with the place, as you are. On my first trip I went with my cousing and we rented a jeap and and our first trip was on Schafer Trail. It was the same year that Thelma and Louise was being filmed. We came up upon this place later in the day and saw a ramp at the location that was obviously aimed over the cliff. It wasn't until the film came out that we knew what the ramp was for.
