Moab Salt's property

Shafer Trail near Potash, Utah

Shafer Trail runs across land owned by Moab Salt. At each end of the company's property a
sign like this explains the situation. This sign is at the western end of the property,
photographed after driving past the evaporation ponds.

The small print on the sign says "The use of this road by the public is by permission of
Moab Salt LLC. By law, Moab Salt has no duty to keep the premises safe or warn of
dangerous conditions that may exist. Moab Salt makes no representations that the premises
are safe for any purpose and shall incur no liability for injuries sustained on the
property. Use at your own risk."

As of 2006, the name of the company owning this property is Intrepid Potash.

And the wording of the sign about "permission" seems a bit misleading,
as the road here is a a public right-of-way (San Juan County Road 142).
