This photo, taken during my first visit to the fins of Poison Spider Mesa, shows the landscape that called to me, necessitating a retrurn visit. On that second visit I approached from behind the brightly-illuminated rock slopes and turned up into the fins. My ascent began at the black dot and followed the gentlest gradient I could find. Most previous photos of this gallery were taken in the shadowy area at far right.
