Photo taken in August 2013. The ramp leads to the Briscoe Park parking lot, which is visible at right through the gap in the trees. This scene changed drastically in 2014 when the levee was re-built. All the stately cottonwoods are gone, removed to eliminate the chance that uprooted trees would damage the levee. The ramp is gone too, as is the parking lot next to it. They were replaced by an inclined parking lot that acts as a ramp. The trail was widened and a flood wall was erected atop the levee. The result is bleak by comparison with the scene above.
Photographed during an examination of trail access points.
