Joe Tripod rests on the mud flat by Floating Island. It did not bother him in the least that his feet were in contact with salt-covered mud.

By the way, even though Joe will not associate with monopods (they are unstable), he is quite comfortable with my bamboo hiking stick because it is never used to suupport a camera.
