These days there are plenty of things to sadden or depress a person. A few examples are the state of the economy, the prevalence of shootings in public places, and the nonsense promulgated by some politicians. My first reaction to bad news is to reach for my industrial-grade tranquilizers.
Most of the time, swallowing numerous pills (whole, not chewed!) makes me feel better. But in those instances when the drugs don't do their work, I take out this humble piece of paper and review its message. Calmness and satisfaction immediately follow.
